Financial Assistance is based on funding a specific Program Plan tailored to the individual needing assistance. This plan defines a financial need that is specific, compelling, and time constrained. Typically, the need is short term (under 1 year) and results in enabling the individual to acquire new marketable skills and/or a better stabilized personal situation that will help them become established and self-reliant upon completion of their Program Plan.
The Dream Village Foundation awards grants on the basis of a comprehensive process. Areas that are reviewed by the Executive Director and our Advisory Committee include, but are not limited to the following: the applicants demonstrated desire to take specific actions to improve upon their situation, their willingness to partner with DVF to define and follow a SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time Bound) Program Plan, and our ability to market their need, via social media, and secure donor funding.
Additionally, the applicant must not have unmanaged debilitating circumstances (drug / alcohol addiction,
diagnosed mental illness, etc.) and has not been convicted of a felony and/or are a subject to an outstanding warrant.
The Dream Village Foundation grants are awarded without regard to race, color, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation. Grants awarded are based upon the availability of funds and additional qualifying criteria.
