Since its inception. the United States has been a Land of Opportunity. The unique place on this planet where your success is limited only by your creativity, hard work, and persistence. However, our history is also stained by persecution of those not “like us”.
Our country is country of immigrants created by enterprising peoples who all came here in search of a better life for themselves and their families.
The inscription on the Statue of Liberty proclaims “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” This, in essence, is the American dream. To start a new life, in a new country, where your ability to succeed is only limited by your personal efforts and capabilities. Where everyone is welcome. Where no one is illegal.
However, our history is also unfortunately stained by a pattern of oppression and discrimination. Of those who came before seeking to keep out those desiring to come. Whether it be the Irish, the Chinese, or currently the Latino or the Muslim … we have often made the new immigrant feel unwelcome.
The Dream Village Foundation was created to help change this state of affairs. To organize a network of like-minded people who seek to actively help support the new immigrant, their families, and other individuals that yearn to improve their lives.
Our aim is to provide financial, emotional, and spiritual assistance to help the new immigrant and their family assimilate and get a good start on their new future. Will you join us in our mission to support this community?
